Mark Zukerberg announced a new feature for WhatsApp. The WhatsApp call links allow you to share WhatsApp links with friends directly from within the chat window of WhatsApp. You can now share links for audio and video calls while the call is in progress. You can share the link to get the parties into an ongoing call. Additionally, Zuck announced via a Facebook post that they are testing secure encrypted video calls for up to 32 users.Q: This could help teams that have larger meetings jump into video calls without switching to other apps like Zoom or Microsoft Teams.   Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp was going to be making an important new feature available to its users on Facebook. WhatsApp calls aim to resolve the problem of sharing links between WhatsApp users. You can now share links for audio and video calls while the call is in progress. When you share this with the concerned parties, they'll be able to join the ongoing call. In addition, Zuckerberg also announced via his Facebook post that they are testing securely encrypted video calls for up to 32 users. The Zoom Web Meetings application is a free, easy-to-use meeting tool for video conferencing and webinars.   When will WhatsApp call links be made available? As exciting as it sounds, WhatsApp Call Links is already out of the alpha test phase. It will be rolled out in the coming weeks to all of the supported regions. If you want to try out this new feature, it's a good idea to update your app via the Play Store or App Store. Wait a week or more for the developers to release the update if there are currently no updates available. It is not clear whether you can share links during calls or schedule calls in a way that is similar to what you can do in Google Meet. In the current version, there is no way to schedule or make a video or audio call. It means that you can't share links while the call is still ongoing. You don't have to give permission to the user who wants to join with a link if you have single tap access to call. In the testing phase, admins have the ability to control multiple groups within one big community. According to the post, the video calling service is testing support for video calls that can reach up to 32 people. It is still behind ZOOM, which offers up to 300 users in a single video call. It is not known if the link for the call can be used by someone who doesn't use the app, or if only other users will be allowed to join the call.
